Hola familia y amigos!
Well I just want to start by saying Happy Birthday to Elder Haggarton, Kade Elison, and especially to my dad! All 3 have the same birthday haha, and funny enough the lady that gave us dinner on Friday was celebrating her birthday as well, haha!
Well stuff is going good here. Apparently Honduras is getting torn apart by some storms that are coming through here, but mostly in the south and in the east. There’s been a lot of rain over there and all the leftovers have come here to SPS. The entire week has been amazing, in the 70s with clouds all day, amazing!
It’s been an interesting week. I feel a lot of pressure from the leaders to get better ¨numbers¨ and sometimes the push for numbers is something that bothers me a bit, but whatever, I´ll get over it. Hey, before I forget, ask Katie Hunsaker if she knows an Elder Carcamo. He’s a return missionary here in my ward that served in Costa Rica and says he started the mission with her. Small world, huh? Anyways, it’s been a good week. We were working a lot this week to get Manuel´s baptism ready and it went well. He seemed really happy and there is good support for him in the ward. He just has a bit of old habits from past churches, but I’m sure those will work themselves out soon. He is getting ready this week for his daughter’s wedding so he´s been really busy, but we were able to get everything ready and have the baptism just fine.
This week we have also been working with Georgina. I don’t remember if I mentioned her before, but she is this lady we contacted that was ready for the gospel. She has loved everything we have taught her and she says that it has been changing her. On Tues. our DL came out here and they stopped by with her and her husband was there and they talked to them both and they both are willing to stop working Sundays to go to church. The husband now wants to keep learning more! So since then Gina has given us 3 references who all seem really interested in the gospel as well and are willing to go to church. Yesterday only Gina went, but some of the other ones had work issues. After church we passed by to see how she was and watch the Joseph Smith video (the one about his life) and one of her sons was there with his wife, so we watched it and answered his questions. He lives somewhere else so we sent his stats to that area, but we left him a BoM, a pic of the Tegus temple, a Family Proclamation and a Lesson 1 pamphlet. She told us later that he really liked the visit. She is proving to be an awesome investigator and she told us she wants to be baptized! She is so awesome! Well yesterday we only had her at church and it was pretty depressing that more didn’t come, so hopefully we can fix that this next week.
